Hydrotherapy has long been used to provide therapeutic value for humans. It is one of the newest tools available for rehabilitation of dogs after surgeries, conditioning for competitive athletes (agility, field trials, hunt tests, search and rescue, and K9 Unit dogs), weight loss for overweight animals, and relief for geriatric dogs suffering from hip dysplasia and arthritis. When dogs swim in the pool with non weight bearing and low impact exercises, there is no additional trauma to joints or muscles, and it speeds the healing process after surgery. Working dogs also need conditioning to perform at their peak abilities
Hydrotherapy exercises may be done by the owner or by trained Lucky Dog staff. Conditioning programs should be done in conjunction with the pet’s veterinarian. Hydrotherapy programs are developed with the owner according to the needs of the dog and requests of the owner.
Costs are about $10-$20 per session. Please ask for more information on our pool!
